A gym workout for the face? Introducing the all-new EMFACE facial rejuvenation treatment.

Experiencing the EMFACE

I eagerly hopped down to the Mendis Aesthetics clinic, which is one of only two clinics in Singapore that currently offers the EMFACE treatment. After a round of photos were taken using advanced 3D facial mapping technologies, the experienced and professionally trained doctor assessed that the left side of my face was drooping more due to skin laxity as compared to the skin on my right side which was a little more taut. After my skin was cleansed and toned, a grounding pad patch was applied to a section of my back and a trio of EMFACE treatment applicator stickers were strategically placed on my face. There was one broad long applicator across my forehead and two smaller applicators – one on each cheek. The three EMFACE applicators are meant to target the eyebrows, corners of the mouth, cheek contours, jawline and neck. By selectively contracting muscles and increasing their density and quality, the EMFACE facial pads are supposed to correct my slight facial asymmetry with the custom tailored adjustment of power on either sides of my face.

Initially, I was startled by the uncanny sensations and was not sure what to think. The feeling was unlike anything that I have ever felt or experienced in my life. I can best describe the experience as a simultaneous combination of mild heat, tangible vibrations and a strong upward pulling and scrunching of the facial muscles that forced me into a mechanical smile each time the apparatus caused the muscle contractions.

Starting from the top of the forehead, the contractions gradually worked their way down to the cheeks and lower half of the face, pulling and tugging as it does the heavy lifting on my behalf while I rested. Think of it as having a gym workout, but for your face instead of your body, and without you needing to put in any effort at all. You are literally exercising your facial muscles. Eventually after about 5-10 minutes into the procedure, I adapted to the process and relaxed into it. So much so that I even managed to fall asleep for the latter half of the treatment even with the power setting at maximum.

The results

When the treatment was over, I could assess that my eyelids were being lifted and I instantly look naturally refreshed, rejuvenated and revitalised. The nasolabial grooves and lines around my mouth have been visibly reduced and smoothened out. My complexion looked radiant, reflective and luminous. EMFACE literally took years off my face. I was flabbergasted. EMFACE not only did not disappoint, it even surpassed all of my expectations and scepticism. I thought to myself that if just one session of the EMFACE could produce such wonderful results without any evidence or trace that I had any work done, then what more when I actually complete the entire course of four treatments?
