Singapore to Host First PPA Asia 500 Pickleball Tournament This July

Singapore’s pickleball community is set to reach a new milestone this July with the country’s first-ever Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Asia 500-tier tournament.

Taking place from 23 to 26 July 2026 at The Sports Arena@Expo, the PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open will be the highest-tier professional pickleball event staged locally to date. The tournament is organised by Kin Productions and is expected to attract both regional professionals and amateur players across multiple divisions.

The event reflects the rapid growth of pickleball participation across Singapore and the wider region, with increasing opportunities for recreational players to compete alongside higher-level athletes.

Open to Both Amateur and Professional Players

The tournament will feature:

  • Men’s Singles
  • Women’s Singles
  • Men’s Doubles
  • Women’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles

These categories will be available across both professional and amateur divisions, allowing players of varying experience levels to take part in the same event environment.

The professional competition will offer US$70,000 in prize money and 500 PPA ranking points, while amateur divisions will include up to S$12,000 in prize money.

Registration opens on 28 April 2026 via the PPA Tour Asia website.

Competition Categories Across Skill and Age Groups

Amateur players can register according to both skill level and age category, making the event accessible even to newer entrants to the sport.

Skill divisions include:

  • Below 3.5
  • 3.5 and above

Age categories include:

  • Under 18
  • 19+
  • 35+
  • 50+

This structure allows players from grassroots club level through to competitive amateurs to participate within suitable brackets.

A Pathway from Grassroots Play to Regional Competition

The Singapore Open also builds on earlier regional tournament developments. Earlier in 2026, the PickleSlam event at Jurong Play Grounds hosted the country’s first PPA Asia 125-sanctioned competition, offering local players a stepping stone towards higher-tier regional tournaments.

Winners from the professional division at that event secured places in the upcoming Singapore Open draw, demonstrating how domestic competitions are beginning to connect more directly with the regional pickleball circuit.

Supporting the Growth of Pickleball in Singapore

Hosting a PPA Asia 500 tournament represents a notable step in Singapore’s positioning within Asia’s competitive pickleball landscape. The event brings together amateur players, club competitors and touring professionals within a single tournament setting — something still relatively uncommon in many racquet sports.

As participation continues to rise locally, events like the Singapore Open may play a role in expanding competitive pathways while increasing visibility for the sport across Southeast Asia.
