Top 5 Places to Wine & Dine This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day in 2024 coincides with the Chinese New Year week, so it can get a bit busy as you’re planning for the various reunion dinners and spring cleaning. Nonetheless, it is important not to neglect your significant other and just pamper them as well as yourself on the 14th! If you’re a little stumped on ideas, here’s a list of the top 5 places we believe will create some memorable moments for you.

1. Lion Brewery Co.

Experience a fusion of European elegance and Asian innovation with Lion Brewery Co. enticing a six-course Valentine’s Day menu, featuring a starter, soup, main course and dessert, alongside an amuse bouche and palate cleanser. Commence date night with refreshing starters that will whet both your appetite. Choose between the Burrata, featuring tomatoes paired with luscious burrata mousse and a drizzle of sweet basil pesto, and the Tuna Tataki, adorned with avocado puree, vine-ripe tomatoes and a sprinkle of togarashi. Then, warm your hearts with the taproom’s famous Wild Forest Cream Mushroom Soup that accentuates the umami flavours of portobello, shiitake and oyster mushrooms blended together.

After cleansing the palate with a Yuzu Sobert, couples have a choice of three tempting main courses. Braised until fork-tender in a red wine jus are the Beef Cheeks that sit on a bed of creamy pomme puree and glazed baby carrots. Delight your palate with the impeccably roasted French Poulet (half), featuring golden-brown skin enveloping juicy, spiced meat. The chicken also comes with pomme puree and a side of baby cabbage. A velvety symphony of texture and flavour, the vegetarian-friendly Truffle Risotto is elegantly topped with spinach and wild mushrooms.

The dessert pays tribute to the Lunar New Year, which coincides with Valentine’s Day this year. Inspired by Tong Sui or Peach Jelly Dessert Soup, the light amber dessert is boiled together with peach gum, logan, lotus root seed, sea coconut, and red dates, lending the perfect sweet end to the evening.
