TFP: Are you looking to incorporate more ingredients or a different way of cooking in accordance with healthy and clean eating?

B: Our aim is to always provide food that is wholesome and healthy and we are constantly thinking of new ingredients and recipes to add to our menu. These must however stay true to our ideals of no added sugar, salt, MSG and unhealthy oils.

TFP: What is the healthiest item in your kitchen?

B: This is a little of a hard one to answer as it depends on what you define as healthy. If your aim is to have minimal calories, then the healthiest item is the Paleo Bowl. If your aim is to have little to no carbs in your diet, then perhaps the keto bowl is the healthiest. Of course there’s always the option to create your own bowl to ensure you are your own chef dictating what is healthiest for you too.

TFP: What does the future hold for Kipos?

S: Kipos Gourmet is one part of a collective we are aiming to establish. In addition to growing our retail arm, we will be launching a healthy grocer and meal subscription service as well. We hope to be able to provide our customers with more and more choices of ways to eat healthy and live healthy.

TFP: Any last words for our readers?

S: At the end of a day, as a human being, eating the right food will give you the right tools to face the challenge ahead. Because with a healthy body you’ll have a clear mind, and I think anything you can overcome it.

B: Maybe I’ll just say that if you eat healthy and you feel healthy, it really makes a confidence difference, and confidence is really important in life. So yeah, it all starts with what you put into your mouth. So yeah.

S: Yeah the confidence thing is what we need to emphasise on. Take for example you eat prate and you walk out of the store, and you feel that your pants is a bit tight. You’ll feel that, “Oh maybe I gained a pound or two”, so you’ll lose that confidence then. But after you eat healthy food, although it doesn’t taste as good, but when you walk out, you feel light. You don’t feel sleepy, you don’t feel sluggish. It gives you the confidence, it gives you the glow. There’s a confidence that drives you for the rest of the day. Yeah, confidence.

TFP: Thank you so much for that! So that’s what healthy food, healthy living should do for you. It should give you confidence.

In the second part, we further examine some cooking styles used in Kipos as well as review some of their protein bowls. Stay tuned!
