Laughs, Cartoons and Physical Feats all at Festival of Fun

Want to spend the upcoming school holidays in a fun environment fit for the whole family? Then you’d be delighted to know that Festival of Fun is coming back to Singapore for its 2nd year to bring families all over the island-nation the fun they deserve. Grab your kids and get ready as Clarke Quay shifts its focus for 10 days of comedy, events and laughter that will make March a month to remember.

This year’s Festival offers three mega events that offer something for all ages. Starting on 8th March till 11th March, guests can attend and laugh out loud with the 5th edition of the Magners International Comedy Festival.

This year’s Magner’s offers a top billing of comedic talent such as North American comedian Doug Stanhope, UK’s Best Newcomer to Comedy 2016 Yuriko Kotani, Hong Kong’s 2014 winner of the International Comedy Competition, Jim Brewski and Bangkok comedy circuit regular Brian Aylward who hails from Canada.

It’s not just international comedians either. Singapore’s very own Samuel See, of Channel 5’s Ok! Chope fame, will be featured in the Singapore vs Malaysia portion of the festival alongside famous comedians Fakka Fuzz and Deepak Chandran. They’ll have to put their comedic chops to the test against Malaysia’s Kevin Jay and Sulaimon Azmil.

 

For children, Clarke Quay will feature the return of the 2-day Nickelodeon Fiesta which celebrates the theme of history and local passion for food. The festival starts on 10th to 11th March and will channel these themes through 9 food-themed game booths where participants will receive limited edition Nickelodeon collectibles.

Children will also have a chance to take pictures with their favourite Nickelodeon characters such as Spongebob Squarepants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Lastly, families can discover their heritage by going through the “Nickelodeon Trail” which will be filled with local delights.

 

Lastly, for the first time in Singapore, from 13th to 18th March the Festival of Fun will feature the best street performers from London’s Covent Garden who’ll showcase jaw-dropping acrobatics, escape acts and risky dare devil events around Clarke Quay’s Fountain Square.

You won’t just be seeing simple tricks either. Contortionist Bendy Em will try to twist and turn her body into a 16 inch Perspex box, while holding a basketball no less! Betty Brawn Strong Lady will also showcase her strength by lifting volunteers from the audience, and the bionic duo of Jump Stilts Extreme will somersault and perform high level tricks right in front of your very eyes. Watch all of this and more as these are only a few of the acts that the Festival for Fun has to offer.

Festival of Fun isn’t just about the show events either, Clarke Quay is going to doll up its best restaurants all throughout the event for guests to dine in. Enjoy the restaurants and bars found in Fountain Square such as Beer Xchange, McGettigan’s, Crazy Elephant, F-Club and many more.
