The Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR) 2025 is back for its 19th edition with a powerful message: to celebrate sisterhood, strength and salubrity. Set to take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025, at the Singapore Sports Hub, this iconic all-women’s race continues to push boundaries by introducing a new 10KM competitive team category exclusively for tertiary students.

Launched by Guest of Honour Jasmin Lau, Minister of State for Education and Digital Development and Information, GEWR 2025 not only encourages women to run for fitness but also to support charitable causes. During the launch event, a six-woman treadmill team raised $20,000 in under five minutes — all going toward Daughters Of Tomorrow (DOT)and the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS).

Spotlight on Young Female Athletes

The new tertiary category invites local institutions to nominate a team of four active female students, providing them a competitive platform to shine. It’s a move that fosters a love for running while nurturing emerging talent within a supportive community.

Race Categories for Every Age

GEWR 2025 continues to offer something for everyone, including:

By-invite 21.1KM Half-Marathon for local elite runners
21.1KM, 10KM and 5KM public runs
2KM ‘Mummy and Me’ Run for mothers and daughters aged 5–12
100M ‘Princess Dash’ for little girls aged 3–6

Returning this year is Sanrio’s beloved character Cinnamoroll, who will appear in the kid-friendly categories to encourage young participants to stay active. Expect adorable race entitlements including backpacks, T-shirts, and medals in exclusive GEWR X Cinnamoroll designs.

Run for a Cause

Participants can bid for personalised bib numbers – a fun way to incorporate lucky digits or meaningful dates. All proceeds from these bids will be donated to DOT and SCS. This charitable effort is part of GEWR’s long-standing commitment to giving back, having raised a record $388,000 in 2024.
