This December, Singapore will witness the grand debut of “来FRISQUE一下LEH!” (Lai Frisque Yi Xia Leh), a 90-minute live circus extravaganza directed and produced by the acclaimed Beverly Wan. This unique production, rich in acrobatic and aerial acts, dance, and live music, stands as a testament to the thriving local talent of Singapore.

Audiences can expect a variety of modern circus acts including acrobatics, aerial hoop & straps, cyr wheel, contortion, fire spinning, juggling, hand balancing, and more. Kris Madden, a guest performer from Cirque du Soleil, shares, “Singapore has a vibrant circus community that is brimming with talent. The opportunity to collaborate alongside these artists is a chance to enrich myself through practice.”

Born and raised in Singapore, Beverly brings her vision to life with “来FRISQUE一下 LEH!”, featuring a show that boasts 99% home-grown talent. She has been passionately developing this concept since 2018. After years of hard work, Beverly debuted this concept in 2023 with the Circus of Altrades. Serving as the artistic director of Altrades from 2020-2023, she left to pursue her own path. She worked tirelessly to refine and expand her vision, further developing the show by incorporating new acts and fusing different genres together. The final show name “来FRISQUE一下LEH!” emerged as the perfect title for this ambitious project.

The show promises an exhilarating experience for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, while also offering a professional platform for local talent to showcase their skills on a grand stage. By celebrating homegrown talent, the event not only entertains but aims to inspire the next generation of performers, highlighting the incredible potential within our community.

Beverly highlights the importance of nurturing homegrown talent, stating, “Singapore is a melting pot of unique cultures and home to a diverse world of talents. We want to play our part and transform ‘possibility’ into ‘reality’ for even more local artists. Through live production, every facet of the arts congregates to celebrate a common identity.” From the production team to the performers and musicians, this show is a showcase of Singaporean artistry, supported by international friends who believe in this vision.

With a dedicated cast and team of 50 talented individuals and seating capacity of over 7,200 across 6 shows, “来FRISQUE一下LEH!” is set to be the largest-scale local circus show ever seen in Singapore. This show will unfold from 12-15 December at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Level 1, Hall B.
