This October sees the launch of homegrown brand Breathe Essentials as well as it’s #youarealwaysbeautiful campaign to share personal stories of female cancer survivors, all in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The brand is dedicated to providing on-going year-round support and commitment to breast cancer awareness by contributing 10% of the sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF).

Breathe Essentials was founded by Charlene Koh, a cancer survivor, an entrepreneur and co-founder of dating app Paktor. She was diagnosed with Stage One breast cancer in 2019 when she was only 35. After an arduous journey battling the disease over the year, she is now cancer-free and is ready to move on to the next stage of her entrepreneur career.

Combining her interest in the area of aromatherapy and essential oils with her desire to inspire others with her own personal experience, Breathe Essentials was born.

Through Breathe Essentials, I want to encourage and empower people who are in a vulnerable and difficult position I once found myself in. In the toughest period of my cancer treatment, I found that aromatherapy and essential oils helped me greatly in coping mentally. I want to bring this solace to Singaporeans who can benefit through my brand.”

True Beauty Runs Beyond – You Are Always Beautiful

Breathe Essentials embarked on an online campaign entitled #youarealwaysbeautiful, with the aim of inspiring women who are battling cancer to face their adversities.

Through this campaign, Charlene and four other cancer-surviving women will be sharing their personal cancer journeys, and how they are continuing to live strong, confident and beautiful, leading life to the fullest despite their cancer history. Their stories will be featured each week starting from 1 October on Breathe Essentials’ website.

The #youarealwaysbeautiful campaign will also see to the start of building a community of cancer patients and caregivers where individuals can gain access to the network through Breathe Essentials to gain support and counsel from cancer coaches and supporters.

The Products

Breathe Essentials will be selling a range of aromatherapy products including organic-certified essential oils and are extracted via a steam distillation process at a distillation plant located in the French Riviera.

The range will also include hand-poured coco soy candles (did we mention how delicious the Cookie Dough candle smells?), co-developed with a 200-year-old European fragrance house with one of the world’s strictest regulatory requirements to craft unique, uplifting scents for customers to enjoy in the comfort of their homes or offices.

We also love the Yoga Mat Sprays that are blends of essential oils that sanitise your yoga mats while giving them a pleasant smell.
