We had interviewed the founders of Anake to find out about the women behind the brand and now we finally made our way down to their store located at Wisma Atria to try out Singapore’s first DNA-based skincare experience.
The 4-step beauty approach can be summarised as:
- Testing your skin’s DNA – Making sense of your skin’s unique genetic profile
- Skin analysis – Understanding your skin’s immediate areas of concern
- Expert consultation – Diving deeper into understanding underlying skin problems with the beauty consultants
- Call for action – Creating a customised treatment plan ready for immediate implementation
Steps 2 and 3 are kinda blurred because your DNA report will be explained to you by the consultant, after which you will also use another machine to scan your face to further analyse what your skin requires. It is then that the consultant will explain to you what machines and products they’ll then use for your bespoke facial later.
Based on my DNA and skin analysis, I have very sensitive skin that’s is also a bit dehydrated. Which is why for my facial treatment, I had the blue LED light to bring down inflammation and there was no harsh chemicals or painful extraction of blackheads. To further help my skin heal, I also felt like Cleopatra when they used 24k gold leaves on my face as a mask.
Best part? The massages…oh so relaxing.
All the girls said that my skin was glowing after the facial. I’m not sure about that but I do know that I felt incredibly relaxed and my skin definitely felt cleaner and more moisturised.
I would recommend trying out Anake at least once because it is important to know about your skin on a fundamental basis. What do I mean by this? Because Anake is DNA-based, it means that all the recommendations on the skincare ingredients and why your skin is the way it is will never change. This is important in your choices of skincare – regardless whether you use Anake’s or other brands.
