Some Alternative Anti-Aging Procedures You Have to Try

As you get older, you may start seeing your age show up on your face and body through wrinkles, crowfeet or saggy skin. A lot of people, wanting to remedy this, decide to rely on different methods of anti-aging processes such as Botox and fillers to slow down the ageing process or completely eradicate signs.

Botox and other types of plastic surgeries can have varying effects, depending on how they’re done, and if you don’t moderate yourself properly, they could quickly end up having the opposite effect. With that in mind, that we wanted to take a look at some less risky, less invasive and more natural methods of anti-aging that you can try to gain the same results.

Considering Botox? Try Out BX Wrinkle Corrector or Instantly Ageless

Botox is easily the most popular de-aging method used today. Whether it’d be common people or even superstars, it’s go-to for anyone that considers wanting to hide the process of ageing. It relies on the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum and is used to smooth out wrinkles in the forehead (frown lines) and around the eyes (crow’s feet). However, like other treatments, it also comes with its side effects such as double vision, breathing problems and allergy induced rashes.

There are a few alternatives to Botox but one that we wanted to mention was BX Wrinkle Corrector from SOTHYS, which relies on dermo-relaxing peptide complex and ultra-moisturizing compels, which offer similar, and less risky effects compared to botulinum. The needle is also smaller and offers high precision that can help you either keep up with treatment if you’ve already used Botox before or acts as an alternative to it if you haven’t. Both men and women can utilise it as well.

You can also try out Jeunesse’s Instantly Ageless, which can help reduce the appearance of eye-lines, eye bags and wrinkles. It can be applied to multiple areas and acts as a good replacement to anything Botox related without any needles. You can check out a previous article we’ve done covering it for more information.

Considering Lip Fillers? Try Out Cinnamon Powder and Peppermint Oil Instead

People go through lip filling to increase the size of one’s lips; this is treated as complementary to other surgeries that affect the face. One of the most common lip fillers is Restylane which injects a gel made up of hyaluronic acid and is used to expand the lips and restore the jawline and chin. It’s also an expensive treatment, requires a large needle to be used (needles are scary!) and could cause swelling, itching or discolouration.

If you’re looking for some alternatives, then you can try mixing some cinnamon or peppermint oil in a small bowl. Apply it on your lips with a cotton swab and leave it there for a few minutes before wiping off the remaining powder. The effects are only temporary but it’ll plump your lips a bit and doesn’t require you to have a large needle shoved up your face just for plumper lips. Plus it’s quick and you will get to see whether you like your lips fuller before trying any procedure that may be a little longer lasting.

Chemical Peels? Pineapple and Lemon Juice Can Go a Long Way

Chemical Peels usually require you to apply Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) on the skin and then peel off the outer skin layer (which is why you should see a dermatologist for this). Unlike other treatments, there are some natural products, but if not done right the procedure can cause redness, scarring or, again, discolouration.

Thankfully, pineapple contains natural skin-nourishing enzymes while lemon’s citric acid also helps the skin. You can replicate the effects of a chemical peel by pouring some pineapple or lemon juice in the bowl and apply it over your face. After five to ten minutes, you must rinse it off with some warm water, and you’ll instantly see the effects. You can repeat this process once a day for a week if you have never scrubbed your face, but after that, you should be fine doing it just once a week to maintain.

Try Out Almond Oil for Some Strong Eyebrow and Eyelash Game

Products like Latisse specialise in giving people longer, thicker and darker eyelashes, though usually it’s only applied to the upper lashes. However, they make these products with chemicals that could put you in danger if they were to touch your eyelid or iris. It’s a delicate procedure with a lot of risks to it.

For a natural procedure, you can use almond oil. When consumed, almond can influence hair growth so if you want the hair in your lashes or brows to grow, you can put some almond oil in a bowl and apply it on your eyelashes or eyebrows with a cotton swab. Make sure to pass the dry end of the swab over your eyelashes to absorb any residual oil and then use a curler to help extend them as you go.

You can also use another product similar to Latisse called Wink. It offers the same effects and is cheaper, plus it has fewer risks and can even help regrow eyebrows.

Homemade Wraps for Anti-Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is tough to deal with and can be very expensive, sometimes too expensive, to have a salon take care of it. Thankfully, with just a cup of coffee grounds, a roll of cellophane wrap, bandages and a blow dryer, you can go a long way on your own.

First, put the coffee grounds on your legs where the cellulite is then grab the cellophane wrap it around your legs. After which, wrap the bandages around your limbs, like you would a mummy. Then lie under the sun, in a sauna or, if you want to, you can use a blow dryer for about ten minutes. The heated caffeine will have an easier time penetrating your skin and breaking down the cellulite.

We hope that all these alternative anti-aging methods can be of help to you or anyone you know. Again, wanting to use anti-aging procedures is nothing wrong, but if there are cheaper alternatives, why not?
