As families prepare for Chinese New Year gatherings, FairPrice has announced a festive price freeze aimed at keeping essential ingredients affordable throughout the peak celebration period. From 29 January to 3 March 2026, prices for all chilled pork products, as well as selected seafood and vegetables, will be locked across more than 160 FairPrice supermarkets islandwide.

The price freeze covers all chilled pork offerings, including fresh pork sourced from Australia and Malaysia. FairPrice remains the only supermarket retailer in Singapore to offer chilled Malaysian pork, providing shoppers with greater choice during a season when pork is a staple ingredient for traditional dishes.

In addition to pork, popular seafood items commonly served during festive meals will also see stable pricing. These include Chinese pomfret, red grouper and Ang Kar prawns, alongside selected vegetables such as yuan xiao bai cabbage. Exclusive promotions on other fresh vegetables will run concurrently to further support household grocery budgets.

The initiative comes amid rising prices at wet markets during the pre-festive period, particularly for pork, seafood and vegetables. By locking prices during this high-demand season, FairPrice aims to help households better manage costs while still enjoying customary reunion meals and celebrations.

This festive support builds on FairPrice’s broader efforts to ease cost pressures, including its return voucher initiatives and ongoing discount schemes for seniors, Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation members, as well as CHAS cardholders. To ensure sufficient supply during the Chinese New Year rush, FairPrice has also increased imports of live pigs from Malaysia ahead of the holiday period.

Through these measures, FairPrice seeks to ensure that festive staples remain accessible, allowing families to focus on what matters most during Chinese New Year — spending time together and celebrating meaningful traditions.
