Singapore marked a historic moment on 24 August 2025, unveiling the nation’s first art-led tribute to the late Kobe Bryant at P95 Basketball Academy. In partnership with Limited Edt, the event commemorated the enduring legacy of the basketball icon, blending sculpture, sport, and spirit into an unforgettable celebration.

Honouring Kobe Bryant’s Legacy

At the heart of the tribute stands an aluminium sculpture created by renowned artist Jahan Loh. Designed to immortalise the essence of Kobe’s “Mamba Mentality,” the piece symbolises resilience, discipline, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Loh described it as more than a statue:

“Kobe stood at the intersection of sport, style, and spirit. Every line, texture, and form speaks to his legacy — as an athlete, a father, and an icon who transcended the game.”

A Fusion of Art, Sport, and Purpose

P95 Basketball Academy, Singapore’s first AI-powered sports enterprise, hosted the event at AiRENA. More than just a training ground, P95 focuses on developing players holistically — both on and off the court.

Director Alan Lim highlighted P95’s philosophy:

“The Mamba Mentality is about pushing past your limits with heart and purpose — values we instil in every player. This tribute is a daily reminder of that spirit and what sets P95 apart.”

Limited Edt: Connecting Culture and Community

The collaboration with Limited Edt, Singapore’s premier sneaker and streetwear institution, added a cultural dimension to the event. Founder Mandeep Chopra shared:

“Kobe Bryant was more than a player. He symbolised drive and integrity. Limited Edt is honoured to co-create this tribute, continuing our mission to grow the game and inspire the next generation.”

Fans were treated to an exclusive showcase featuring Kobe memorabilia from Limited Edt’s private collections, alongside specially curated sneaker drops spotlighting iconic Kobe silhouettes.

A Celebration Beyond Basketball

The day-long event blended art, basketball, and family — including a parent-child basketball game honouring Kobe and his daughter, Gianna Bryant. Attendees also received commemorative “Black Mamba Day 2025” cards, making it a memorable experience for every fan.

With this tribute, P95 Basketball Academy and Limited Edt aim to inspire future generations while creating a cultural hub where sports, art, and values converge.
