Singapore’s Fashion Community Join Forces to Support Down Syndrome Association at Mystique 2024

Singapore’s fashion community has united to support the Down Syndrome Association’s (DSA) annual fundraising gala, Mystique, to be held on October 5th, 2024 at Marina Bay Sands and Expo, Heliconia Junior Ballroom.

Fashion industry luminaries – including Pat Kraal, Marion Nicole Teo (Miss Singapore Universe 1987), Ibrahim Atan, Daniel Boey, Debra Choi, Russell Tinoq Goh and Dylan Chan – gathered to be photographed with DSA beneficiaries for this fundraising campaign by renowned photographer Russel Wong that highlights the beauty and diversity of the human spirit.

“Capturing the essence of this collaboration has been incredibly meaningful,” said Russel Wong. “The energy and connection between the veteran supermodels and the DSA beneficiaries has been palpable, making each photograph a testament to the power of inclusion. The campaign isn’t just about fashion – it’s about celebrating the beauty of every individual and the stories they bring to the table.”

DSA beneficiaries not only star in the photoshoot – to be unveiled at DSA’s centre in Bishan on the 17th of September – but will also take to the runway together with models from Platinum Angels Management (PAM) at Mystique 2024.

Under the theme of “Metamorphosis: Embrace the Becoming”, Mystique promises to be an evening of transformation, inspiration, and celebration, with the aim of raising S$300,000 to enable persons with Down syndrome and their families to receive the necessary support through DSA’s vital programs and initiatives.

Mystique 2024 will be graced by Guest of Honour Mr. Seah Kian Peng, Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. Guests will enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring performances by DSA beneficiaries, a special fashion show with models from PAM. The gala night will also feature an engaging auction featuring exclusive artworks, jewelry and experiences, and a raffle draw with luxurious prizes. Additionally, attendees will receive exclusive door gifts, including handmade candles crafted by learners from DSA’s Work Readiness Assisted Programme.

This year’s theme, “Metamorphosis: Embrace the Becoming”, reflects DSA’s commitment to growth and adaptation, as the organization continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of the community. It underscores DSA’s vision for the future—a continuous journey of transformation, development, and deepened connections within the association and the wider community.
