Singapore Residents Can Claim a Pair of Free Reusable Masks

Temasek Foundation announced that they’ll be providing every resident of Singapore (including permanent residents and work pass/ work permit/ long term pass holders) with a pair of MaskSafe DET30™ reusable antimicrobial masks in conjunction with their annual Community Day and as part of their Stay Prepared initiative to encourage people to wear masks when they head out for essential purposes.

MaskSafe DET30™

The MaskSafe DET30™ has an outer antimicrobial layer that has been tested against various bacteria and viruses, with 94% effectiveness against Influenza A virus, an enveloped virus.

It is reusable and washable up to 30 times. This means that a pair will last up to two months, with a daily ‘wash one, wear one’ usage. More information on how to use, wash and care for the MaskSafe DET30™ masks can be found at the StayMasked website.

Where to collect

Interested residents may collect their pair of masks from 29 June, 10am to 12 July 2020, 11.59pm at any of the 1,200 vending machines located islandwide at Community Centres/ Clubs, Resident Committee Centres and bus interchanges. You can click here to locate the nearest vending machine to you.

Residents may collect on behalf of their family members or others, by bringing along their respective government-issued identifications with barcodes for scanning at the vending machines. You may want to visit the StayMasked website to also check on the stock availability of the masks at the vending machines nearest to you.

Pre-ordering and collecting extra masks

If you’d like, you may also pre-order up to five additional mask kits (a pair of masks) at S$8 per kit from now till 11 July 2020 at stayprepared.sg/buymasks or through the DBS PayLah! app. After which, you may scan their unique pre-order QR code at the vending machines to redeem. Direct sales or payment will not be available at the vending machines.
