In celebration of Global Running Day (3 June), ASICS invites runners of all kinds to join the ASICS Global Running Day Virtual Run 2020. In partnership with 42Race, the virtual run aims to raise awareness and proceeds for the Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia Breast Cancer Foundations and the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

Amidst the isolation and current world happenings, we believe that running serves as a form of escape for most of us. From people who have just started running to those who are running more often during this time, ASICS would like to invite you to run for a cause. More now than ever, the world needs to come together to show its support for each other. This Global Running Day, ASICS would like to rally your love for the women in our lives. Just like we run to empower ourselves, this virtual run looks to empower women from all walks of life.

The event is open from now till Sunday, 7th of June, and invites new, returning and veteran runners all around the globe. All participants will need a GPS-tracking app such as the ASICS’ Runkeeper™ in order to participate. Running categories include 3km, 5km and 10km to cater to runners of all levels. Admission is free for all participants and registration is open from today till the 5th of June, Friday.

Finisher’s Award

Upon completion of the race, participants will receive an e-badge to commemorate their achievement and contribution to the charity. This e-badge hosted on 42Race can be proudly displayed on participants’ badge wall in support of a great cause. 35 lucky participants who complete the race will also win an ASICS water bottle in a special Global Running Day Lucky Draw.

All you need to do:

Sign up for a race category that excites you
Complete the race using a GPS tracking app or an indoor treadmill
Submit a screenshot of your tracking app or a photo of the treadmill dashboard showing your results
Wait to receive your e-badge once the submission is verified

The Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation is a social service agency, established with the mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Set up in 1997, BCF is committed to raising awareness about breast cancer through talks, events and publications that advocate early detection through regular screening. BCF supports survivors and their families through various counselling and training programmes. Participants of the ASICS Global Running Day Virtual Run 2020 are encouraged to donate any amount to the organisation at https://www.giving.sg/campaigns/asicsglobalrunningday.
