Testimonials from Past Students
“This course has been an absolute game-changer. It wasn’t just theory in a slide deck, it was real, relevant, and designed for impact. Each week built on the last, covering everything from the history of sexology to anatomy, communication, consent, sexual diversity, and cultural competence. I loved the balance of evidence-based content with inclusive, pleasure-positive approaches that reflect the realities of modern relationships and sexual health. One of the absolute highlights for me was the triad work. I learned so much from my triad mates, their perspectives, experiences, and feedback added layers to my understanding that I could never get from the handouts alone. It made the learning richer, more dynamic, and so much more human. I’m walking away with language, strategies, and confidence that I can apply in my advocacy. This wasn’t just education; it was equipping me with my sexology “superpowers” for life.” – Brightly Abby, 12 Aug 2025 (3rd intake)
“Human beings are really complicated and there are even more permutations when people get into relationships. There’s no one size fits all approach to relationships or sexual relationships and we do not all have to fit into the social construct to be okay. i.e., Sex does not have to be only penetrative to be called sex.” – Shayne, Week 10 Couples Therapy and Sex Therapy (3rd intake)
“It’s given me the opportunity to reflect on a deeper level about my sexuality, as well as my partner’s sexuality in a manner that has opened up more conversation, exploration, and awareness in our relationship. Discussions with my partner also helped me understand how a client may need to be incredibly mindful of the safety and reassurance they offer their partner when having such discussions.” – Anonymous, Week 7 Sexual Fantasies, Kinks, and Pornography (3rd intake)
“This week’s theme on listening, framed through the three dimensions—Listening to What is Said, Listening to What is Felt, and Listening to What is Emerging—has significantly deepened my personal growth and understanding of sexuality education. This integrative listening approach fostered a more holistic and compassionate engagement with the subject, reinforcing the importance of both cognitive and emotional receptivity in sexuality education.” – Catherine Toh, Week 5 Communication Skills in Sexology (3rd intake)
“I often struggle to balance the differences between couples, especially when compromises often come from the partner that is more exploratory. It is interesting to hear that with safety and respect for the lower libido/ desires, it invites the other partner to explore out of their comfort zone. Although we agree that the incompatibility might sometimes mean couples choose to go their separate ways, the focus on creating safety gave both partners a chance to consider their partner’s preference.” – Alicia Phua, Week 5 Communication Skills in Sexology (3rd intake)
“One of the greatest new insights I gained was just the vast amount of knowledge a sex counsellor had to have. And that makes sense because as much as sex is not spoken about in public usually, there are so many aspects of sexuality and it is only ethical for a sex counsellor to be adept in the knowledge.” – Julian Lim, Week 1 Introduction to Sexology
“I appreciate you so much Martha! This course was fantastic in it’s depth and range of topics. You treat so many difficulty/sensitive topics with respect and role model the practice of Sexology with grace and humour. I hope to be as impactful as you are in my work. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you have done to create this program. Thank you for being such an incredible voice of allyship. You have set the bar very high and I won’t let you down. The content you focus and teach on is of high value and importance in societies throughout the world. I am excited to embark on this new path, armed with this training to embolden me.” – Chrystal Toop, 25 June 2024 (2nd intake)
“Thank you for giving me a great insight learning and have a different exploration of the whole course.” – Anonymous Student, 25 June 2024 (2nd intake)
“Very comprehensive course. Really appreciate sharing your personal experiences. Thank you so much!!!” – Anonymous Student, 25 June 2024 (2nd intake)
“Martha is a generous in her vulnerability and authenticity as an educator and practitioner. This course is important for any therapist to attend as sex and sexuality are not talked about especially in Asian families and in an Asian context. Sex and sexuality is an important facet of human relationship and functioning which has gone changes and meaning as time evolved. It is especially important for counsellors to learn about such topics more especially in crafting healthy sexual conversations with our young and what they need to know.” – Tonia Goh, 12 Dec 2023 (1st intake)
“Sexuality is one of the major components in life to most of the people, while it is not a comfortable topic to talk about especially in Asia. Similarly, such a professional course is rather rarely conducted in the educational field, even in Singapore. The structure of progamme and coverage of planned topics is relevant and wide, facilitating a better disposition as a professional helper with the added knowledge and skill sets when serving the concerned clienteles.” – Krish Phua, 6 Dec 2023 (1st intake)
“Dr. Martha’s expertise in evidence-based sexuality is exceptional. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn her framework, gaining confidence in supporting clients with both relationship and sexual concerns. This certification provides a holistic overview, combining macro and micro skills, filling a crucial gap in the field. Thank you, Martha, for offering this invaluable certification and for offering to provide continuous support.” – Sharinder Kaur, 16 Nov 2023 (1st intake)
“A taboo topic which has rooms for more attention and awareness. Sexual health is as important as physical and mental health. A holistic approach and wellness to life.” – Shaza Teo, 16 Nov 2023 (1st intake)
“Great info and education for all mental health professions.” – Eve, 11 Aug 2023 (1st intake)
