Income Eco Run 2026

April 19 @ 4:30 am - 11:00 am
$16 – $40

A community run built around zero-waste living returns this April

Income Eco Run 2026 returns on 19 April 2026 at Bayfront Event Space, continuing its focus on encouraging climate-positive habits through a family-friendly running event centred on sustainability.

Now in its latest edition, the run invites individuals, families and even pets to take part in distances suited to different fitness levels while supporting environmental awareness through practical everyday actions.

Held under the theme “How Far Will You Go for Zero Waste?”, the event combines physical activity with community participation and eco-education initiatives designed to make sustainable living more accessible.

New distances for children and pets

This year introduces expanded participation categories to make the event more inclusive across age groups and lifestyles.

Adults can take part in:

  • 21.1KM Half Marathon
  • 15KM run
  • 10KM run
  • 5KM run
  • 3KM run

Children aged 4 to 9 years old can join the 700M Kids Dash, while those aged 10 to 12 years old can participate in a 1.2KM youth run.

Pet owners can also sign up with their cats or dogs for either a 700M or 1.2KM Pets Category run, allowing families to participate together in a shared sustainability-focused experience.

Supporting climate action through every kilometre completed

As part of its environmental commitment, the event will contribute $1 for every kilometre clocked towards a green cause supporting sustainability education and outreach initiatives.

Previous editions have supported programmes designed to introduce students and educators to eco-friendly practices and environmental awareness through experiential learning.

Zero-waste practices continue across the event experience

Income Eco Run 2026 continues to strengthen its sustainability framework through a range of practical zero-waste measures implemented before, during and after race day.

These include:

  • compostable plastic-free hydration cups at water points
  • reduced-size run bibs to minimise paper usage
  • encouragement for participants to reuse existing running shirts or wear orange tees
  • composting of organic waste generated during the event
  • digital race medals instead of physical medals
  • upcycled materials used for children’s medals
  • carbon offsetting linked to event logistics and participant travel estimates

Together, these initiatives aim to demonstrate how large-scale community events can reduce environmental impact while encouraging more conscious lifestyle habits.

Sustainability learning journeys for young participants

Following the run, children can sign up for specially designed Eco Experience learning journeys created in collaboration with sustainability partners.

These sessions introduce young participants to topics such as:

  • e-waste recycling processes
  • composting food and paper waste
  • identifying eco-labels while grocery shopping
  • understanding circular economy practices

The sessions are offered as parent-child activities to support early exposure to environmental awareness through hands-on learning.

Optional sustainability-designed event tee

Participants who wish to purchase an event tee can opt for a commemorative design created by local illustrator Tammy Chew of @teechewpaper, using recycled materials derived from plastic bottles.

The shirt is intentionally positioned as an optional add-on rather than standard race entitlement, reinforcing the event’s emphasis on reducing unnecessary merchandise waste.
