Inaugural Singapore Vegan Festival
29/09/2019 @ 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Veganism was the biggest food trend of 2018 globally and it continues to rise around the world. In Singapore too, vegan activities increased manifold in the last year or two. People of all food preferences are now curious about plant-based food and the festival aims to cater to this rapidly growing segment of vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians. As such, this month sees the first-ever Singapore Vegan Festival, hosted by EatRoamLive, to be held on the 29th. The festival aims to bring together the best vegan delights in Singapore, across cuisines and culture. Foodies (vegan or not) can expect a plethora of food experiences ranging from local dishes such as vegan biryani to Japanese and Greek fine dining.
The Singapore Vegan Festival aims to spread awareness about plant-based food and proving that vegan doesn’t mean boring. Attendees can sample vegan products, food and beverages at the market stalls on the day itself. Be prepared to try cashew cheese, vegan wines, various nut butters, dairy free chocolate cupcakes and much more.
Besides encouraging vegans to explore fresh options, the festival embraces people of all food preferences (vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, flexitarian and vegan-curious) and would like to offer interesting alternatives to those who are curious about the vegan lifestyle. As such, it will be a food paradise that opens avenues, offers options and showcases an ethical opportunity without being judgmental.
Gourmands will be glad to know that there will be various talks and cooking demonstrations led by experts such as Vegan Chef Damian Piedrahita who has worked across kitchens in Spain & Northern Italy; and Malaysian vegan celebrity Chef Yin who is a cookbook author and TEDx speaker. Those with young children will also be delighted to know that there are activites planned for the young ones, thus ensuring that the event is family-friendly! Do check out the full event programme at https://sgveganfestival.com/schedule/.
To be held at the Atrium Ballroom of the centrally located Raffles City Convention Centre, the event will be held in two sessions – 11AM to 3PM and 4PM to 8PM. Entry tickets can be purchased at https://sgveganfestival.com/tickets/ and these include entry to the festival; free food samplings; access to talks & panel discussions, and kids’ activities.
