SATA CommHealth Community Walkathon & Carnival 2023

SATA CommHealth, a leading healthcare charity with a 75-year legacy of service in Singapore, is delighted to announce the SATA CommHealth Community Walkathon & Carnival 2023. Happening on 4 November 2023, the event presented in collaboration with Pfizer, seeks to champion preventive health education, falls prevention, and the Healthier SG initiative; while encouraging participants to work towards their personal health goals to foster a healthier and more resilient community.

The SATA CommHealth Community Walkathon & Carnival 2023 will not only serve as a meaningful community gathering but also as a platform to underscore the vital role of COVID-19 vaccinations in safeguarding public health. As Singapore continues its journey to overcome the pandemic, this event is a reminder of the role vaccinations play in this collective effort. In a commitment to inclusivity, the event will include activities tailored to children, adults, and seniors, promoting unity and educating the community on critical health issues.

Programme highlights

Themed ‘HERE TO CARE – make every step count’, the event features two components for participants to engage with, a walkathon followed by a carnival experience. Covering a distance between 1.5km to 2.8km, the walkathon is designed as a non-competitive, inclusive walk suitable for participants of all ages. Throughout the walkathon, participants will encounter multiple pit-stops thoughtfully designed to highlight the importance of COVID-19 vaccinations and the lessons learned from the pandemic. Each pit-stop engages participants in activities that are both informative and entertaining. The walk culminates with a meaningful pledge, fostering a sense of commitment and unity among all participants.

Tailored for three-generation families to come together, the event also features a dynamic format comprising of a carnival that is open to everyone, complete with health screening booths, informative health talks, captivating performances, and bouncy castles to keep children entertained. Participants can look forward to a plethora of carnival activities including a Handprint Board, a Carnival Games Zone featuring Giant Jenga and Country Eraser, and a lively Photobooth for creating lasting memories. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the soothing practice of TaiChi and Wushu demonstration. For the convenience of attendees, transportation will be provided to the carnival after the walkathon.

Event details

SATA CommHealth invites all Singaporeans to join in the celebration of health and unity, starting at East Coast Park for the walkathon, and later adjourn to Bedok Town Square for the Community Health Day Carnival.

Walkathon: 8AM – 10AM Angsana Green @East Coast Park

Carnival: 10AM – 6PM @ Bedok Town Square
