Project Godown – Secrets of Clarke Quay

This immersive time travel adventure will take participants through an enchanting journey around CQ @ Clarke Quay, inviting participants to unlock the forgotten stories of the iconic godowns and shophouses lining the Singapore River. From unearthing the precinct’s Teochew heritage to admiring the architectural marvels of godowns and warehouses preserved from our maritime beginnings, participants will journey through the five distinct blocks of CQ @ Clarke Quay to uncover hidden clues, puzzles, and food challenges with vintage photographs acting as a window to the past.
Some of the hidden gems you’ll learn more about include:
- CQ @ Clarke Quay’s Teochew roots – once called “Cha Jung Tau” (firewood)
- Read Bridge – the coolies’ ultimate entertainment hub
- The fascinating story of the Riverhouse and the secret society
- Admire modern architectural masterpieces – including a 110-metre long mural by Yip Yew Chong and tobyato!
