SUMMARY:Earthopia Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:As conversations around sustainability continue to grow in Singapore\, Earthopia Fest 2026 is returning with a more immersive and community-driven experience designed to make climate action feel more accessible\, creative and practical for everyday life. \nTaking place from 29 to 31 May 2026 at Fort Canning Green\, the three-day festival will bring together youth groups\, green businesses\, artists\, wellness practitioners and sustainability advocates for a large-scale public event centred around conscious living\, creativity and community engagement. \nOrganised by City Sprouts\, the festival is expected to feature more than 100 content partners and over 5\,000 participants across workshops\, panel discussions\, wellness sessions\, performances and interactive installations. \nA Sustainability Festival Designed for Everyday Living\nRather than presenting sustainability as something intimidating or expensive\, Earthopia Fest 2026 aims to connect greener living with daily habits and lifestyle choices. Visitors can expect activities that explore sustainable fashion\, food\, wellness\, urban farming\, conscious consumption and low-waste living in approachable and engaging ways. \nThe festival programme includes hands-on eco workshops\, guided tours\, interactive games and community-led experiences that encourage visitors to rethink how sustainability can fit naturally into modern lifestyles. \nOne of the key highlights is the Earthling Exchange\, which will showcase science fair exhibits\, volunteer opportunities and climate innovation projects that encourage visitors to take action beyond the festival grounds. \nFashion and circular living will also play a major role through Circular Styles\, a dedicated thrift and sustainable fashion zone exploring style\, identity and consumption through a more environmentally conscious lens. \nWellness\, Climate Conversations and Creative Expression\nBeyond sustainability education\, Earthopia Fest 2026 will also place strong emphasis on wellness and emotional resilience. Visitors can participate in gentle yoga\, yin yoga\, sound bowl healing and nature-inspired movement sessions throughout the festival. \nPanel discussions curated with ecosystem partners and the Inter-University Environmental Coalition (IUEC) Singapore will cover topics such as climate pollution\, urban heat resilience and nature-based solutions. The programme will also include conversations around climate anxiety\, reflecting growing concerns about environmental stress and emotional wellbeing among younger generations. \nThe event will additionally feature a variety of live music performances\, film screenings and community acts designed to make the festival feel more like a shared cultural experience rather than a traditional sustainability conference. \nArt Installations Made From Waste Materials\nSeveral large-scale art installations created from repurposed materials will also be displayed throughout the festival grounds. \nAmong them is Our Current Creatures\, featuring floating jellyfish-inspired forms made from discarded plastic materials\, as well as E-Fossil: A Warning From Our Time\, an installation imagining what future generations may uncover from today’s e-waste and industrial consumption. \nOther installations include SOAR\, an upcycled bird sculpture made from discarded milk bottles\, and Disposable Planet\, a large Earth-inspired artwork constructed from colourful fabric scraps to spotlight circular fashion and textile waste. \nLive Music and Weekend Performances\nMusic and entertainment will also be part of the festival experience\, with a concert line-up featuring local acts such as Sobs\, Heema Izzati\, Club Mild\, Shye and The Jukuleles on the evening of 30 May. \nThe wider programme will include performances by emerging artists\, school groups and community performers across the three-day event. Film screenings and additional community programming are also planned for the final evening of the festival. \nEvent Details\nEvent: Earthopia Fest 2026Date: 29 to 31 May 2026Venue: Fort Canning Green\, Fort Canning Park\, near Canning Rise\, Singapore 179618Organiser: City SproutsRegistration / Updates: Earthopia Fest 2026 \n\nImage: Earthopia Fest

SUMMARY:BMDP Hosts Free Family Storytelling Event for World Marrow Donor Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:Families looking for something educational to do with their children this September can learn more about blood\, marrow donation and helping others through a free interactive event at Woodlands Library. \nThe Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) will hold Olly’s Adventure to Hope: Storytelling & Mission Adventureon Saturday\, 19 September 2026\, ahead of World Marrow Donor Day on 22 September. The 90-minute programme combines simple hands-on activities with storytelling and is suitable for children aged five and above. \nComplete three adventure missions\nFrom 2pm to 3pm\, children will receive an Adventure Passport and make their way through three activity stations. \nThe first introduces children to blood and the role it plays in keeping the body healthy. At the second station\, a matching game helps explain why patients who require a marrow transplant need to find a suitably matched donor. \nFor their final mission\, children can decorate a feather with a thank-you message for marrow donors before adding it to BMDP mascot Olly’s wings. Participants receive a stamp in their Adventure Passport after completing each activity\, and the stations can be visited in any order. \nStorytime with a haematologist and marrow donor\nAt 3pm\, families can gather for a reading of Adam’s Adventure: Saving Sarah’s Smile\, a children’s story centred on friendship\, courage and community. \nThe session will be led by Dr Joanne Lee\, a senior haematologist who is also a marrow donor herself. This gives families an opportunity to hear about marrow donation from someone familiar with both the medical process and the experience of being a donor. \nChildren who participate in the storytelling session will also receive a goodie bag. \nBMDP mascot Olly will also be making an appearance during the afternoon for families who would like to take photographs. \nIntroducing children to marrow donation\nThe event forms part of BMDP’s activities for World Marrow Donor Day 2026 and Blood Cancer Awareness Month. \nRather than going deeply into the medical details\, the programme uses games and storytelling to introduce younger children to concepts such as healthy blood\, donor matching and why people choose to become marrow donors. \nBMDP currently manages Singapore’s volunteer marrow donor register. According to the organisation\, the registry has grown to more than 130\,000 donors over the past 32 years and has facilitated more than 1\,000 patient transplants. \nEvent details\nOlly’s Adventure to Hope: Storytelling & Mission AdventureDate: Saturday\, 19 September 2026Time: 2pm–3.30pmVenue: Woodlands Library\, Level 4Suitable for: Children aged 5 and aboveAdmission: Free \nFor more information about the Bone Marrow Donor Programme\, visit BMDP’s website. \n\nImages: BMDP
