SUMMARY:CÉ LA VI with SIFA present SIFA X: LOVE DIVINE
DESCRIPTION:CÉ LA VI Singapore\, the iconic rooftop destination\, and the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) are proud to present SIFA X: LOVE DIVINE\, an extraordinary performance featuring STILL LIVES (Marina Bay) by Daniel Kok and Luke George and CHILDREN OF VENUS by Queen of Burlesque\, SUKKI. Get ready for a three-hour boundary-defying party-meets-art spectacle on 26 and 27 May 2023 at 7 pm in the Club Lounge\, set against the backdrop of Singapore’s glittery cityscape\, 57 storeys up. \nAs part of SIFA 2023 organised by Arts House Limited\, the evening kicks off with STILL LIVES (Marina Bay)\, a stunning performance by rope artists Daniel Kok and Luke George\, gradually binding a clientele of “High Net Worth Individuals” and/or “Social Influencers”. The durational rope art performance culminates in a suspension of the subjects\, against the aerial backdrop\, evoking a collective reflection of our relationship with wealth. By throwing the spotlight on a particular group of individuals\, audiences are invited to meditate on the spectrum of human experience\, in line with the title for SIFA 2023\, The Anatomy of Performance – Some People. \nAfter the rope art performance\, guests are treated to CHILDREN OF VENUS\, an incredible performance curated and directed by SUKKI (previously known as Sukki Singapora). Featuring burlesque trio The Glamourettes\, renowned drag artist Becca D’Bus\, contemporary sensual performer Francesca Harriman\, aerial artist Adelene Chua\, and burlesque aficionado Lychee Bye\, this performance explodes with sass\, taking guests on a journey from fever-pitch to hypnotic sensuality and back again. It embodies the heart and mission of SUKKI’s creative passions – defiant solidarity\, freedom of expression and feminist power that transcends labels\, all crystalising in her visionary evocation of Botticelli’s iconic birth of Venus. \nCÉ LA VI Singapore invites you to participate in Executive Chef Maksym Chukanov’s own culinary theatre with the Parmesan Custard & Jam Brioche\, a warm\, soft pillowy brioche bun exploding with a velvety salted parmesan cheese and fruit preserves custard. Chef Maksym has an instinct for experimentation\, and this exquisite vegetarian-friendly snack complements the two-day electrifying spectacle that leaves guests at the edge of their seats. \nLOVE DIVINE is a decadent reverence to evolving art forms. Peppered with CÉ LA VI’s truly signature extravagant flair\, it is the art party to catch. \nCÉ LA VI with SIFA present SIFA X: LOVE DIVINE\nDate: Friday and Saturday\, 26 & 27 May 2023\nTime: 7 PM\nTicket Price: S$58 Nett – inclusive of 1 Parmesan Custard & Jam Brioche\nMin. SUMMARY:Moon Bathing – Bi-monthly Gathering on Full Moon
DESCRIPTION:The full moon is known for its ability to manifest desires\, so if you feel like treating yourself to some self-care\, consider a moon bath. \nMoon bathing is a great way to get in tune with your body and connect with the cosmos—and it can also help you relax\, meditate\, and feel more connected to nature. \nHow Does Moon Bathing Work? \nWhen you are exposed to the light from the moon\, it can help to release melatonin\, which will help you get a good night’s sleep. The best way to do this is by going outside and basking in the moonlight— all while meditating or practicing yoga. \nWhat Can You Expect From Moon Bathing? \nWhile there are many benefits that come with doing this type of meditation\, including better hormonal health\, there are also some things that you should expect when engaging in this practice. Some people may experience feelings of peace\, euphoria\, and even heightened creativity when they go out into nature and take in all that the night has to offer. If you’re looking for something new in your life then this could be exactly what you need! \nWhat Can You Expect During Our Session \nWe will first gather at Eros Coaching office before heading off to a outdoor location. We will picnic (share food/ drinks)\, lie down outdoors\, share about ourselves and lives\, then meditate under the moon. There will be an invite to journal about what we would like to manifest in our lives being a full moon\, and a good time to gain more clarity about our life intentions. In case of rain\, we will modify the event and do it indoors at Eros Coaching office. Since we need to move outdoors \, please be on time! \nInclusion Statement \nThis is open to everyone who identifies as male or female\, straight or gay/ lesbian/ bisexual/ queer/ pansexual/ asexual — everyone! Come with an open mind\, an attitude to make friends rather than to impress! You can participate however much or little you feel comfortable with. All emotions are welcomed. \nDate: Mon 6 Feb 2023 \nTime: 7:15 – 9p.m. (Please be on time\, and be prepared stay till the end as it can be disruptive to the group) \nVenue: Eros Coaching. 23 Kelantan Lane\, #03-01A Kim Hoe Centre\, Singapore 208642 (We will leave for outdoors from 6:50p.m.). \nFee: S$25 per person (includes some light nibbles and refreshment)

SUMMARY:Experience Body & Spiritual Wellness at Singapore's ACM
DESCRIPTION:Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) explores wellness and wholeness of body\, spirit\, and mind with Body & Spirit: The Human Body in Thought and Practice. Featuring over 100 objects from the National Collection\, private collectors\, and local communities\, the special exhibition presents a stunning display of sacred and ritual art. \nConceptualising the body as a material expression of our mind and spirit\, the exhibition surveys the rituals\, healing practices\, pilgrimage\, and divine images of different faith communities. It features a variety of objects – from manuscripts and paintings to medical tools\, talismans\, prayer furniture\, textiles\, and more\, to contemplate the many ways in which religions in Asia understand the human body. \nThe full experience of Body & Spirit extends beyond the Special Exhibition Gallery into the rest of the museum. It is complemented by two showcases. Buddha Relics in the Level 2 Foyer features beads and precious offerings that were buried together with bone relics of the Buddha in the Piprahwa Stupa in India. Vel Vel: The Burden Dance\, located in the Contemporary Gallery on Level 1\, explores the practice of making and bearing kavadi – elaborate structures carried during Thaipusam\, a yearly festival celebrated by Singapore’s Tamil Hindu community. Visitors are also encouraged to explore objects on permanent display in the Faith and Belief Galleries along a specially curated museum trail that continues the theme of bodily and spiritual wellness. \nBarong mask and costume \nKennie Ting\, Director of ACM and Peranakan Museum\, shared\, “Body & Spirit continues our slate of special exhibitions for #ACM25. It has been a project almost three years in the making\, delayed one year due to the pandemic. It carries our response to recent global disruptions and the challenges we’ve all faced at the community and personal level. We are opening Body & Spirit at the close of the year – as a way to celebrate us stepping out slowly but surely into a new normal; but also as a reminder for us all to prioritise health\, wellness and the body as we face another year ahead. \nBody & Spirit\, and our two special showcases from Buddhism and Hinduism\, explore the rich cultural and artistic heritage of cultures and faiths across the larger Indian Ocean world. In particular\, we explore sacred and traditional wisdom with regards to the human body\, holistic healing\, and cycles of birth\, life and passing. The exhibition encourages the visitor to explore universal themes across cultures and faiths\, and to contemplate our place within the Infinite. We invite you to come with family and friends\, to be awed and to experience restorative calm\, in this space of beauty\, spirituality and hope.” \nModel of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre \nConceptualising the relationship between body\, mind\, and spirit\nThe human body is the medium through which we experience the world around us. Reaching deep into Singapore’s National Collection\, Body & Spirit sheds light on how philosophers across different cultures have created frameworks for understanding our place in the universe – part of a continual search for meaning. \nGiven the fragility of the body and its connection to spirituality\, religions often provide guidance on cleanliness and health. Visitors to the exhibition will encounter not only how various faith communities conceptualise the human body in relation to the spirit\, but also different methods of healing and body discipline. This is not limited to the living\, but extends to views about the afterlife\, in which the body is regarded as the material manifestation of one’s spirit after death. \nThe exhibition also highlights the significance of the human body in religious rituals and practices. Such rituals may require the assertion of certain postures or movements\, conveying a sense of humility on the part of the practitioner. Others require collective assembly\, where believers not only reaffirm their faith but also strengthen their sense of community. Highlights in this section include objects on loan from St Joseph’s Church (Victoria Street) and Masjid Darul Aman\, which provide a glimpse into the material culture of various religions. \nAmong these sacred and ritual objects\, a special meditative alcove bathed in soft light allows visitors to immerse themselves in a cocoon of contemplation. \nIllustrations of Buddhist festive occasions \nBuddha Relics\nOn display in the Level 2 Foyer are Buddha relics – carved beads\, pearls\, flower-shaped gems\, gold foil discs\, and other precious offerings – which were found together with bone fragments and ashes excavated from the Piprahwa Stupa in Uttar Pradesh\, India\, by British landowner W. C. Peppé in 1898. \nThese relics are from the portion of the find that Peppé was allowed to keep. The bones and ashes were enshrined in temples in Thailand\, Myanmar\, and Sri Lanka\, where they are still venerated by Buddhists today. Powerful symbols of belief\, they are seen as substitutes for the Buddha himself\, animated with his power; able to fly through the air\, emit rainbow rays of light\, bring rain\, and multiply. \nIn recognition of the significance of these relics to communities today\, visitors will be able to leave offerings of fresh and dried flowers at a special station in the gallery. \nVel Vel: The Burden Dance\nLocated at the Contemporary Gallery is Vel Vel: The Burden Dance – a showcase that spotlights the practice of bearing elaborate structures known as kavadi (“burden” in Tamil) during Thaipusam\, one of Singapore’s most important festivals. The different forms of kavadi presented are richly crafted\, with a significance and beauty that shows their makers’ creativity. \nProduced by the local art collective Sistrum\, the showcase includes a sonic experience that highlights the close-knit collaboration of the community\, who take part in a constantly evolving tradition and its essential relationship with dance and music. \nInteractive spaces\, programmes\, and tours\nVisitors can also destress and reflect at the Level 2 Foyer\, part of which will be transformed into an interactive space dedicated to Asian wellness practices. The public is encouraged to employ wellness techniques\, learn about practices like yoga and traditional Chinese medicine\, and enjoy a sonic mindfulness experience and slow craft activities. In conjunction with the special exhibition and showcases\, there will also be curator tours\, interactive activities\, and workshops focusing on mindfulness and bodily wellness – these will be available online and onsite. \nBody & Spirit: The Human Body in Thought and Practice\, Buddha Relics\, and Vel Vel: The Burden Dance run from 25 November 2022 to 26 March 2023 at ACM. Admission charges apply. For more information\, please visit www.acm.org.sg. \n\nImages: Asian Civilisations Museum

We respect individual choice.\nWhat about confidentiality? – You can choose to keep your video and audio off for the entire duration. You can private message the presenter Dr Martha so your name will not be mentioned. You can also “rename” yourself on Zoom. If you speak during the workshop\, your voice will however be recorded. We will review all this at the start of the workshop.\nWill there be nudity? – No\, we will be using sexual aids i.e. carrot or toy.\nWill there be touch? – No.\nRatio of discussion to experiential? – About 50/50 percent.\nWhat should I bring? – A phallic object for the Pleasuring the Penis workshop; a carrot (or similar) for the Fellatio workshop; a cut-out of the vulva (will be sent) for the Viva la Vulva workshop.\nWhat should I wear? – Whatever you like but no nudity is allowed.\nWhat is your refund policy? – Please note that no refunds are possible once you have paid and cannot make it for the workshop. SUMMARY:FREE A.M.A. Ask Me Anything! – Relationship Counselor & Clinical Sexologist Dr. Martha Tara Lee
DESCRIPTION:In this FREE informal virtual Ask-Me-Anything session\, you get the chance to ask Clinical Sexologist and Relationship Counselor Dr. Martha Tara Lee anything you want – particularly along the lines of love\, sex\, and anything in-between! \n\nLove\nSex and…\nAnything In-Between!\n\nThis session will be interactive\, intimate\, and personal.  There is an emphasis in maintaining safety and confidentiality\, as well as in all present being non-judgmental\, respectful of others\, and thinking of others in their best light possible. \nDo submit your questions if you prefer before the session as I can make sure I get to them! 🙂\n\nAll sharing and emotions are welcomed. Do note this is not a replacement for psychotherapy or intensive therapy.\n\nSome commonly asked questions have included: \n\nIs there such a thing as female ejaculation?\nIs it normal to masturbate?\nHow often should couples have sex?\n… What is your question?\n\nWhy Ask Martha?\n\nFour degrees: Doctorate in Human Sexuality; Masters in Counseling; Masters in Public Policy & Management; Bachelor of Arts (Communication)\nRelated training: Certificates in Practical Counseling; Life Coaching\, and Sex Therapy\nAuthor of four books: Love\, Sex and Everything In-Between; Orgasmic Yoga; From Princess to Queen; and {Un}Inhibited\nCreator of several online programs: Ready\, Get Sex\, Go; Sex Possible; Sex Jumpstart; Tongue Twisters; Clean and Clear; Make Love Week; Sex & Sexuality 101\n12 years of experience coaching more than 1\,300 individuals and couples combined face-to-face\, as well as at least another 4\,000 people over 450 events (lost count really!)\n\nTestimonials from Previous Sessions (Known as Ask-Away)\n“The Ask Away session gives a fantastic insight on many things and was definitely an eye opener on the many aspects of what seem to be simple questions but in reality what everyone wants to ask but do not know how and to whom to ask. It deals with real issues and hints how one can grow in the sensuality world of things the way Dr. Martha deals with the questions in addition to giving an understanding on the matter of the questions.  Keep up the good work Dr. Martha and know that you are helping many a persons. I would definitely encourage one and all to attend.” – Pal\, April 2011 \n“Ask Away was the perfect opportunity for me to go ahead and ask away! The session was held in an open concept forum and it was easy to fit in with the group mix that Dr Martha had put together. I certainly gained a lot from hearing out what others had to say about my questions which broadened my views and thinking levels. The best thing about it was that the questions were displayed anonymously\, which is great for the shy ones – like me.” – Ask Away participant\, April 2011 \n“Ask Away” was an excellent complimentary platform to allow shy or even skeptical people to learn & ask what good sex & applied sensuality can do for your relationships & self-esteem. The possibility of moving on to Dr Lee’s workshops-for-a-fee is certainly higher now\, with the assurance that the issues discussed are something that can be resolved or improved\, with mutual understanding between lovers absolutely needed to be fostered & reinforced. – Dennis\, 30 year-old “Ask Away” participant\, Feb 2011 \n“Thank you for your session last week entitled “Ask Away”. It was enlightening and I have discovered that I was somewhat clueless on some areas of sex and sexuality. The information you shared helped me understand men and women better and what it takes to have better sex life. It will  help to educate others who may have the same misunderstandings. The session was well conducted and open. I liked the free exchange of information and I did not feel uncomfortable about discussions of “taboo” topics! Especially that women will climax better through clitorial masturbation and some women will even ejaculate! I love the oral sex techniques as well. Of course I will  remember NEVER to “poke\, poke”. (chuckle). Finally\, though the environment was unfortunately marred by the renovations next door\, I found your teaching to be entertaining and engaging. Overall\, I will definitely attend again and would recommend others.” – B. Y.\, Feb 2011 \n“Ask Away was a great opportunity to learn more about sex in a relaxed setting. Dr Martha Lee is approachable and professional in her conduct of the workshop and that helps to put participants at ease when learning about a taboo topic like sex which is not often talked about openly in Singapore. I would highly recommend others to sign up for Ask Away if they have questions about sex or would simply like to learn more about it.” – Anonymous\, Feb 2011

SUMMARY:Never Too Early: A Guide to Talking about Sex with Children
DESCRIPTION:As parents\, we will receive thousands of questions from our children but the one type of question that we often fear is the sexual related topic. Talking about sex\, sexuality\, and bodies should not be an intimidating experience because it is an important part of their journey in helping them to have a healthy relationship with themselves\, their body\, and the people around them. \nThe most important messages we want to provide are that you are open to talking about this topic\, you provide a safe and non-judgmental environment\, and give them confidence that they can rely on you for the right information when they have any questions or curiosity about it. \nHowever\, sexual education is not a one-off conversation like having “The Talk” when they got in trouble or when you think they are ready for it\, but it is an ongoing conversation that we can start from a young age with simple language and evolves with more details as they grow up. \nWhat to expect from this talk: \n\nUnderstanding what is sex education\nHow to be comfortable with sexual topics\nWhen do we start talking about it\nHow to talk about it\nThe importance of having this conversation\n\nThis talk is suitable for anyone who is a caregiver\, educators or parents to prepare them to be confident and comfortable in talking about sex with the children under their care. \nDate: Thurs 16 June 2022 \nTime: 7:30 – 9:00p.m. Singapore time \nFee: By donation. Recommended S$25. All contributions will be given to our workshop presenter as an honorarium. \nVenue: Virtual via Zoom \nEnquiries: To book\, please email info@eroscoaching.com \nAbout Andrea Koh\n\n\n\n\nAndrea Koh has always been passionate about sex education since young when she noticed how the lack of sexual knowledge in the community causes sexual issues and nothing is being done to help prevent it. Therefore\, she decided to be the person that started the trend of making sexual topics more open and fun to talk about. \nHaving a Master of Sexology from Curtin Australia and currently doing her Master of Professional Counselling at Monash Malaysia have provided the skills and knowledge to educate and help individuals or couples with relationship and sexual concerns. \nShe has also received American Association of Sexuality Educators\, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) CEs on supporting clients to overcome Vaginismus. For the past 4 years\, she has been co-treating women and couples from overseas and across Malaysia with vaginismus issues along with in-house Physiotherapists at Vibrance Pelvic Health Centre using a multi-disciplinary approach. \nShe has also been featured in HerInspirasi and Jelita magazines on topics related to relationships and sex. Other than that\, Andrea has experience in educating the public about STI/HIV\, safe sex\, relationship and sex\, and how pelvic health can improve one’s quality of life. \nWebsite: www.vibrance.com.my \nEmail: andrea@vibrance.com.my \nIG: @secrettalk_andrea / @myvibrance \nFB: @myvibrance

SUMMARY:Sugar & Spice Community Sharing: Our LGBTQIA Stories
DESCRIPTION:June is Pride Month. \nThis session welcomes people of all gender\, sexual orientation and abilities. Conducted using Zoom\, you can always turn your video and audio off\, rename self\, and private message the presenter so you can participate to the extent you’re comfortable with. Auto captioning will be provided and if you have a specific accessibility request\, let us know at contact@eroscoaching.com. Recording will be made available for 30 days. \nMore about Sugar & Spice\nThe Sugar and Spice movement allows a discourse to transform conventional thinking that people raised in traditional societies are unable to express themselves with confidence and purpose when it comes to sex – preferences\, attitudes\, social discretion and judgement. What are the drivers that compel people to make certain choices in life that have a long lasting impact? \nPerhaps it is their conservative upbringing or the fact that sex has often been a taboo topic not to be spoken of at home. We aim to impart positive messages and learning around sex\, sexuality and sexual wellness. Empowering participants to listen\, observe\, learn and find sexual wellness by their own free will. \nThroughout our events we will work together with participants to question and refine their mind-set\, freeing them from any cultural measures that could have resulted in low sexual self-esteem and a fear of enjoying the pleasures of positive sexual wellness that generates happiness and overall self-positivity. Working closely with participants with care and privacy we aim to help close the gap on their lack of sexual education and positive role models regarding sexual wellness. \nThe online nature of our events allows participants from all over the world to connect and interact with others who may have a similar or comparable upbringing. To ensure that sessions are dynamic\, interactive and helpful\, speakers and facilitators are all skillful and empathetic experts in their field. \nDate: Thursday 2 June 2022\n \nTime: 7:00 – 8:00p.m. Singapore Time \nPlatform: Online via Zoom \nFee: Donation of S$10 recommended. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. \nSign up at www.ErosCoaching.com/Events. \nFor enquiries\, please email info@eroscoaching.com.

SUMMARY:ItaliAE in Singapore: A photographic journey through Italy from Alinari to the Masters of Contemporary Photography
DESCRIPTION:From 18 May to 17 June 2022\, Singapore residents have the opportunity to do a photographic journey in Italy through the images of Alinari Foundation\, the oldest photographic agency in the world. \nThe photography exhibition ItaliAE\, organised by the Embassy of Italy in Singapore\, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and with Alinari and Fondazione Alinari as partners\, will take place in two venues: Visual Arts Centre (18 May – 15 June 2022\, 3-9 pm\, 10 Penang Road #01-02\, Dhoby Ghaut Green\, S238469) and National Library (20 May – 17 June 2022\, 12-7pm\, Level 9 Promenade\, 100 Victoria Street S188064). Entrance will be free. \nItaly’s Ambassador to Singapore\, Mr Mario Andrea Vattani\, says: “ItaliAE is an exhibition conceived to convey the beauty and variety of Italy\, its landscapes\, its creativity and its people through photography. Singaporeans\, who are increasingly showing an appreciation of Italy and its art and culture\, will have the opportunity to discover a plural Italy\, on which over time of the gaze of photographers with very different tones\, techniques and styles has fallen\, careful to capture the country’s mobile and complex identities\, its traditions as well as its subtlest lines of evolution. We invite all the communities in Singapore to visit ItaliAE”. \n \nA composite anthology of shots – over 160 images taken from historical and contemporary archives – retraces a century and a half of history\, recreating an ideal gallery of portraits and memories\, witnessing the extraordinary vitality of Italian photography. From the Alinari brothers\, pioneers and protagonists of an approach to art and communication through images that accompanied the construction of the national identity\, to the great masters of twentieth-century Italian photography and contemporary photography. Through the works of over 75 authors\, an original visual narrative of our country is built: a story that is at the same time a small compendium of the history of photography\, its techniques and its aims and aesthetic assumptions. \n‘ItaliAE’ presents itself as a never-seen-before exhibition project\, capable of bringing together\, in a sometimes surprising way\, the photography of yesterday and today\, and techniques very distant in time\, from calotype to I-photography\, from autochrome of the early twentieth century to very modern Virtual Photography. \nThe exhibition is divided into three sections – Landscapes\, Works and Faces -\, each providing an ideal historical\, artistic and documentary journey through the modes and genres of photography: a structure that is both simple – of great impact and immediate communicative power – and complex\, able as it is to illuminate scenarios that are very different in origin and tone. \nThe exhibition\, created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation\, in collaboration with Fratelli Alinari IDEA Spa\, curated by Rita Scartoni and Luca Criscenti\, will be presented abroad from 2021 in collaboration with the diplomatic-consular network and with the Italian Institutes of Culture. The images on display largely come from the Alinari Collections\, declared by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism\, in December 2018\, “of particularly important historical interest”; These are flanked by a selection of materials taken from archives and studies of the main Italian photographers of the twentieth century – already established authors as well as young protagonists of ultra-contemporary photography. \nWhen and Where?\n18 May – 15 June 2022 / 3-9pm \nVisual Arts Centre\n10 Penang Road\, #01-02\nDhoby Ghaut Green\nSingapore 238469 \n& \n20 May – 17 June 2022 /12-7pm \nNational Library\nLevel 9 Promenade\n100 Victoria Street Singapore 188064 \n  \nFor more information\, contact segr2.singapore@esteri.it . \n\nImage and Video: Alinari Archives

For the past 3.5+ billion years\, that one life has continued to evolve as patterns of our biodiversity have been shaped and reshaped\, forming variations of new species\, changes within our species\, and loss of species throughout the evolutionary history of earth. \nAs we shift and change biologically we are also going through massive changes relationally. We are adapting to our new and constantly changing environment through the way we relate to one another as an ever-evolving species. We are simply not designed to stay the same or maintain some sort of status quo. As humanity continues to move through it’s latest shift as a global culture we would like to create a time to make space to not only acknowledge but encourage this process of becoming better human beings through our capacity to evolve relationally. \nIt’s not a surprise to any of us that if we want to continue to not only survive\, but also thrive\, as a species in harmony with this planet we must come together in love and solidarity. In order to do that\, we need to look at the ways we relate\, our relationship to trauma\, fear and violence and what we can do to coexist in cooperation and unity with one another– not despite but in celebration of the way our species has and will continue to evolve forming new variations to our original one life. Just like the butterfly mutates and adapts to form new colors and varieties\, so do we. \nEvolveFest is an online festival bringing you the leading teachers\, facilitators and role models for a new paradigm of relating. Join us and world renowned presenters with freshly inspired ideas\, concepts and practices on how we can consciously continue to come together to use that which is at the heart of everything we do – love\, relationships and family- to inspire our evolutionary process as relational beings. \nhttps://evolvefest.online/doctor25

SUMMARY:June Sugar & Spice Monthly Talk – Pride Month
DESCRIPTION:The Sugar and Spice movement allows a discourse to transform conventional thinking that people raised in traditional societies are unable to express themselves with confidence and purpose when it comes to sex – preferences\, attitudes\, social discretion and judgement. What are the drivers that compel people to make certain choices in life that have a long lasting impact?\n\nPerhaps it is their conservative upbringing or the fact that sex has often been a taboo topic not to be spoken of at home. We aim to impart positive messages and learning around sex\, sexuality and sexual wellness. Empowering participants to listen\, observe\, learn and find sexual wellness by their own free will.\n\nThroughout our events we will work together with participants to question and refine their mind-set\, freeing them from any cultural measures that could have resulted in low sexual self-esteem and a fear of enjoying the pleasures of positive sexual wellness that generates happiness and overall self-positivity. Working closely with participants with care and privacy we aim to help close the gap on their lack of sexual education and positive role models regarding sexual wellness.\nThe online nature of our events allows participants from all over the world to connect and interact with others who may have a similar or comparable upbringing. To ensure that sessions are dynamic\, interactive and helpful\, speakers and facilitators are all skilful and empathetic experts in their field.\n\nCome join us and embark on a new positive learning journey!\n\nDate: Friday 18 June 2021\nTime: 7 – 9 p.m. Singapore time\nWhere: Zoom\n\nThe Intersection of it All\n\nAn examination of the different identities they take up as an individual that impacts their existence and activism. As a Fat Non Binary Bisexual South Asian born in Singapore\, they share experiences of Fatphobia\, Biphobia and of being a minority race. To drive home the fact that no one part of their identity can exist without the championing of the rest of them. Having always been activist at heart but only getting into it in their mid 30s\, they delve into the challenges of coming out later in life in the public eye and coming to a place of true self acceptance.\n\nAbout Aarti Olivia Dubey\n\nAarti Olivia Dubey is a former mental health therapist who took a leap of faith at 30 and started a plus size fashion blog known as Curves Become Her. Today\, they exist both as a plus size fashion blogger and activist. Their activism spans across various intersections of their identity – from Fat Liberation to Human Rights and their Queer Identity. They have worked with local\, regional and international publications\, organisations\, media outlets to advocate for marginalised bodies.\n\nIt’s not a Culture War – It’s a Proxy War\n\nBy definition\, a proxy war is a war instigated by a major power which does not itself become involved. Growing up in a sheltered environment\, they used to be ignorant and close-minded\, but acknowledging their queerness helped them to open their eyes\, mind and heart. Their introspection enabled their extrospection. Through this ongoing journey\, they have come to learn of how the personal is political – and the lack of substantive action from the top is harming the lives of fellow LGBTQ+ folks. In this presentation\, Elijah (they/them) shares about everything about and surrounding their queerness – coming out\, facing discrimination\, getting involved in advocacy\, activism and politics\, and simply being and becoming.\n\nAbout Elijah Tay\n\nElijah Tay (they/them) is a passionate youth activist who has been involved in advocacy work since they were in secondary school. At the age of 16\, they founded initiatives like @QueersOfLH and @MyQueerStorySG to uplift the voices of the LGBTQ+ community in school and in Singapore respectively. They have also shared extensively in live discussions and podcasts\, such as on New Naratif’s Political Agenda\, Sayoni’s webinars\, SPEQ:TRUM podcast\, Lesbeheard’s Instagram Live and Ferne Health’s online workshop. They believe in the importance of creating safe spaces while moving society towards becoming a safe space for all.\n\nIn My Utopia\, Queer is the Default\n\nMany of the stories we see in the media about “coming out” as LGBTQ highlight stories of people who knew very early on in their childhood that they were Queer\, and thus searching for validation and support for their identity. Some young people do have an inkling early on\, but what gets left out of the narrative of queerness are folks who don’t unlearn their hetersexuality until their adult years. In her journey of unlearning heterosexuality\, Jayda shares her journey of feeling “queer enough” for the LGBTQ community\, as a pansexual femme\, and how our current culture of compulsory monogamy doesn’t leave enough room for many of us to explore our queerness or gender.\n\nAbout Jayda Shuavarnnnasri\n\nJayda Shuavarnnnasri is a queer Southeast Asian sexuality & relationship educator. Also known as Sex Positive Asian Auntie\, she works to liberate folks from sexual shame by creating space for authentic conversations about sexuality\, relationships\, identity and healing. The topics that excite her most are sexual exploration\, identity\, transformative justice\, and non-conventional relationships. She is also the co-producer of Don’t Say Sorry podcast\, which centers the experience of Southeast Asian women navigating relationships\, mental health and sexuality.\n\nSponsored by: PinkLifestyle\n\nPinkLifestyle offers a wide range of lingerie\, personal massage equipment\, lubricants and aromatic body oil. We carry top brands around the world — Japan\, UK and USA\, each with their own distinctive culture and definition of design and innovation. Our mission is simply based on careful selection of products with the best quality\, at the most affordable prices. We aim to bring couples closer together in the most direct manner.
