SUMMARY:Great Green Run
DESCRIPTION:Sustainability-centric business communication solutions platform\, Greenbees and international sports event management company\, TriFactor announced the launch of its first sustainability-driven ‘Great Green Run’ today\, which is set to take place on 24 September 2023 at Great Green Run’s venue partner\, Marina Barrage. \nGreat Green Run is designed to serve as a platform to rally and inspire individuals\, corporations and communities into sustainability advocacy and action. In efforts to promote sustainability\, Great Green Run will also be one of the first sporting events to publicly share its carbon footprint and sustainability initiatives report which will be reviewed and verified by the Singapore Environmental Council (SEC). In addition to this\, every participant is encouraged to make an individual sustainability pledge upon registration\, with options to choose from the five selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. \n5 Selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals\n\n\n\nGood health and well-being\nS$3\n\n\nSustainable cities and communities\nS$11\n\n\nResponsible consumption & production\nS$12\n\n\nClimate action\nS$13\n\n\nLife below water\nS$14\n\n\n\n  \nThe run on 24 September 2023 at Marina Barrage will be divided into two categories – corporate and community run. For the corporate run\, more than 2\,000 professionals\, managers\, executives and technicians (PMETs) from over 50 multinational corporations (MNCs) as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are expected to participate. Among the notable corporations that have shown their interest are RSM Singapore\, CapitaLand\, CIMB Singapore\, SISTIC Singapore and National Healthcare Group. On the other hand\, Great Green Run is expecting more than 3\,000 avid and leisure runners to take part in the community run. \nCIMB Singapore is the presenting sponsor of Great Green Run. The bank has been an active proponent of the Environmental\, Social\, and Governance (ESG) agenda and is the first ASEAN bank to sign the industry-led\, UN-convened Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA)\, a member of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). CIMB is also continuously stepping up on its sustainability innovation in order to achieve its ambition of becoming a leading ASEAN bank and a sustainability leader. Over the past two years\, CIMB Singapore has executed several significant sustainable financing transactions. In 2022\, CIMB Group doubled its sustainable finance target to RM60 billion by 2024 after having met its original target of RM30 billion two years ahead of schedule. \n \n“Awareness is the first step to any change. As a leading ASEAN bank\, our greater purpose is to advance customers and society towards a sustainable future. We advocate sustainable practices for ourselves as an organisation as well as encourage our people to actively participate in initiatives contributing to positive environmental and social impact. As the presenting sponsor of Great Green Run\, we hope to amplify the awareness on sustainability through our network of partners and communities\, and to inspire a positive change within our circle of influence on integrating sustainable practices in our daily lives\,” said Victor Lee\, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Singapore. \n“TriFactor is determined to incorporate and champion sustainability practices in all our local and international TriFactor events\, spearheaded by Great Green Run. We are honoured to have CIMB Singapore onboard as our presenting sponsor in our inaugural event in Singapore and to be working together with several key government agencies and sustainability partners\,” said Elvin Ting\, Founder of Orange Room & TriFactor. \n“We are thrilled to organise our inaugural Great Green Run\, in partnership with TriFactor\, the leading multisport brand in Asia. With a strong aim to be the standard bearer of sustainable sporting events\, we wanted a running event because the activity itself has a relatively low environmental impact compared to other sports. We believe running connects people and builds community – you meet new people\, you spend time with people\, and you talk to people with collective shared values. As two purpose-driven organisations come together\, we understand the importance of embedding sustainability in everything that we do to create positive impacts across the business ecosystem\, as well as the community\,” said James Yeong\, Project Director of Great Green Run. \nSustainable development is an integral part of Singapore’s economic growth. As an enabling supporter of local and global sustainability standards\, Great Green Run supports and aligns with the Singapore Green Plan 2030 to advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development. Great Green Run aspires to unite and educate individuals and corporations to build a grassroot movement to address a range of social needs\, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. \nIn addition\, Great Green Run has partnered with some of the leading sustainable territories in the world\, such as the Kingdom of Bhutan\, the world’s only carbon negative country\, and Lahti\, a city in Finland and 2021’s Green Capital of Europe. Great Green Run is also supported by some of the notable brands such as RSM Singapore\, ShopBack\, Tesla\, CapitaLand\, JustRunLah! and more. \nFor more information and to register for the run\, please visit https://greatgreenrun.com/ \n\nImages: Great Green Run

This year\, it will feature a virtual event where participants can race at their own pace and comfort. Participants will receive the limited-edition commemorative medal\, making it a meaningful and lucky memento for all. SUMMARY:The Limitless Run 2021 - I Run For Hope
DESCRIPTION:The Limitless Run (TLR) is back and last year saw the funds raised to S$60\,015 which helped to provide about 1\,090 counselling sessions for youths in need of mental health treatment. \nThis year\, things have changed and your help is needed once more. With the recent incidents that have been happening\, Limitless is seeing more and more youths reaching out for help. Last year saw a total of 373 youths but as of the end of August 2021\, that number has risen to 650. \nThat’s staggering. It’s beyond anything that could’ve been planned for. And Limitless hasn’t been able to provide every one of them the help they deserve due to the lack of mental health professionals to meet the need. The numbers are expected to rise and there is a need to expand the clinical team to provide for that increase. \nBy participating in TLR 2021\, you will be helping to fund the increased costs required to meet the growing need for Limitless’ services and enable them to expand their clinical team. This will in turn allow them to help more youths who need mental health therapy. \nVirtual Run\nAll runners will be encouraged to use a running app to track and record their time and distance\, and the finisher’s medal will be sent after verification. Besides the finisher’s medal\, all participants will also be entitled to a race pack\, and runners in the 10km solo category are entitled to a race tee (which can also be purchased separately). \nRunners will also get access to masterclasses conducted by mental health professionals from 11-15 October 2021. \nRunners are also encouraged to help multiply their impact and will be given a toolkit to help fundraise within their own communities and on social media through giving.sg. \n \nThose who do not wish to run but would still like to support the cause\, they can choose to give at www.giving.sg/limitless/tlr2021 and all donations done there will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the government! \nTo sign up for the run\, please register at https://connect.justrunlah.com/virtual-challenge/the-limitless-run-2021/. \nFor more details about The Limitless Run 2021\, please visit www.limitless.sg/run. \n\nImages: Limitless

SUMMARY:Red Bull Wings For Life World Run
DESCRIPTION:New runners take note: the Wings For Life World Run is the perfect run for anyone who just wants to try out running. No specified distance\, the possibility to run virtually and a great listening experience\, all help push you towards a personal best. \nReturning to Singapore for its eighth year\, the Wings For Life World Run is a truly unique global race that is organised by Red Bull. Taking place on 9 May 2021\, the race flags off globally at 7pm (SGT/ GMT +8) and is open to both runners and wheelchair participants. \n100% of all entry fees goes to support the Wings For Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation\, with the goal to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Just as in 2020\, the Wings For Life World Run will be held exclusively via the App. Even if all participants should run individually for themselves\, the sense of of community and the fun factor at this run are unique. You run alone\, but you’re still connected to the global field of participants via the App and the integrated listening experience. \nHow it works\nTo be part of the run\, participants need to register for the race at http://www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com/ or simply download the Wings For Life World Run App (available in iOS/Android) and commence from wherever they please. The run will flag off globally with runners and wheelchair users starting at exactly the same time of 11:00 UTC (19:00 SGT) for a truly synchronised race. \nInstead of a finish line\, participants must keep ahead of the virtual Catcher Car within the Wings For Life app. The virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start gun and begins its chase of participants\, starting at a speed of 15km/h. The Catcher Car increases its speed steadily until all the participants are caught\, for a truly competitive and social marathon. It is game over for the competitor once the Catcher Car overtakes them. Once passed by the Catcher Car\, participants have successfully completed the run. Everyone is a finisher in the Wings For Life World Run. \nAfter registration\, participants can join the Singapore team on the Wings For Life World Run app or via the link here to be part of the Wings for Life World Run Singapore Community. \n\nImages: Wings For Life World Run

SUMMARY:Run for Hope 2020
DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 1993\, the annual Run for Hope aims to raise much-needed awareness\, funds\, and support for cancer research\, with the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) as the beneficiary. \nMore than 10\,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year\, with the disease accounting for 1 in 4 deaths in Singapore. Hence\, it is no longer rare to find someone we know who is or was affected by cancer. Research projects spearheaded by National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) are crucial in bringing hope to all who live with the shadow of cancer in their lives. Through continuous support\, Run for Hope can make a difference in the lives of those affected. \nIn light of existing government regulations and current sentiments towards large-scale events\, the Run for Hope organising committee has decided to convert Run for Hope 2020 into a virtual run. \nThe virtual run will take place from 4 November to 31 December 2020. \nThis is to ensure that we provide the safest possible experience for our participants\, while still \nsupporting cancer patients and research in Singapore. \nThe 3.5km and 10km race categories will remain the same\, but a new 25km category has been added for runners who want to run a longer distance. Runners can choose to complete their chosen category in one go\, or run the distance over a few runs within the period of 4 November to 31 December 2020. \nIf you are already a registered participant\, no additional action is required on your part as your run slot will be automatically converted to the new virtual run. Please visit this link for a step-by-step guide on how to submit your run results. \nRegistrations through our Run For Hope 2020 website will remain open until 2359 Hours on 31 December 2020 for all who want to support this worthy cause. Participants’ race packs will be couriered to their mailing addresses upon submission of run results. \nPlease keep a lookout on our website www.runforhope.sg and our Facebook page for further updates. You may also support our cancer cause by making a donation towards cancer research through https://www.giving.sg/campaigns/rfh2020 \nDates: 4 Nov to 31 Dec 2020 \nYou can get more information and sign up at this link: www.runforhope.sg \n\nImage: Run for Hope

Singita has just released the dates for the third annual event\, which is held in partnership with the Grumeti Fund in Singita Grumeti\, a private 350\,00-acre concession in Tanzania. \nEntries are now open for this iconic three-day\, 63km run through the vast plains of the Serengeti\, taking place from 27th October to 1st November 2020. The entire experience spans five days and this all-women run will support the empowerment of girls in adjacent rural areas. \nThe multi-stage event is suitable for runners of all levels who will encounter an abundance of wildlife and breathtaking scenery as they cover 21 km each day. The women will be accompanied by scouts from the Grumeti Fund Anti-Poaching Unit\, and a support team in a shadow vehicle to take care of their safety and comfort throughout the entire event. \nOn completion of the run\, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the Grumeti Fund’s community and conservation programs\, including a 5km fun run and career fair for local high school girls. They’ll also visit the Anti-Poaching Canine Unit and take a tour of the new center for Research and Innovation in the Serengeti Ecosystem (RISE). \nThis exclusive experience\, which is part of Singita’s collection of ‘Safaris with a Purpose’\, is aimed at raising funds for empowerment programs for girls. Donations to the Grumeti Fund assist in running empowerment events for 5\,000 high school girls\, including the provision of sanitary pads for one year; and scholarships for 80 local secondary school learners for vocational studies and university. \nSingita Sabora Tented Camp\, situated on the plains of the Serengeti\, is the luxurious base for five nights. Participants will return to the utmost comfort to recuperate after each day’s run\, experiencing a quintessential tented safari under canvas. Following a redesign\, Sabora’s new look will be unveiled in June 2020. Each of the nine tented suites will feature a private meditation deck with views of the surrounding grasslands\, a beautifully curated in-room pantry and an outdoor deck with daybeds. With tents set close to the ground\, guests are continuously connected with the sights and sounds of the bush. \nEarly evening game drives provide a front-row seat to incredible game-viewing in this exclusive protected reserve in the western corridor of the Serengeti\, and guests have the opportunity to book restorative massages in the treatment room or in the comfort of their suite. \nThis is an inimitable opportunity to experience a Serengeti safari while contributing to the empowerment of girls in Africa. The Serengeti Girls Run 2020 takes place from 27 October to November 1. The experience costs S$6\,240 per person (single) or S$4\,855 per person (sharing) for the all-inclusive 5-night package (full board)\, including return flights on Grumeti Air from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Singita Grumeti; and an additional tax-deductible donation to the Grumeti Fund of S$21\,500 per person (single) or S$11\,790 per person (sharing)\, used to fund empowerment projects for girls and women. \nSpace is limited and so to book a place\, please email Katherine Cunliffe at info@grumetifund.org. \n\nImages: Serengeti Girls Run \n

SUMMARY:Empower Girls & Women Through a Run Across the Serengeti
DESCRIPTION:Following on the incredible success of the Serengeti Girls Run in 2018\, Singita and the Grumeti Fund are thrilled to announce that entries for the 2019 event are officially open. The all-women run forms part of Singita’s signature collection of conservation safaris called “Safaris With A Purpose\,” and is held in partnership with the Grumeti Fund to support the empowerment of girls and women in rural Tanzania. \n \nComprising five all-inclusive days at Singita Sabora Tented Camp\, this year’s itinerary includes a variety of activities and a run that will see participants complete 21 kilometres daily over 3 days\, traversing some of the most iconic wilderness areas in Africa. \nThe multi-stage event invites runners of all levels to cross the vast plains in Singita’s private concession in the western corridor of the Serengeti\, where they’ll encounter an abundance of wildlife and breathtaking scenery at every turn. They will be accompanied by expertly trained\, experienced anti-poaching scouts from the Grumeti Fund\, who’ll keep an eye out for curious animals\, while a support team in a shadow vehicle will be on hand to take care of their safety and comfort. \n \nThe event’s home base\, Singita Sabora Tented Camp\, is an intimate 1920s-inspired explorers camp that embodies the magic of a bygone era. Featuring opulent chandeliers\, Persian rugs and bowls filled with fresh roses\, it provides a space for the runners to rest and recuperate at the end of every day. \nThe exclusive\, purpose-driven experience is aimed at raising funds for empowerment programs for girls and women\, which are focused on providing opportunities for women to become leaders in conservation. Each donation assists in funding numerous non-profit initiatives\, including scholarships for local girls in secondary school\, vocational studies and university; training girl mentors and providing life skills and internships; as well as enterprise development training for women and environmental education for girls from local secondary schools. \n \nSerengeti Girls Run offers participants various opportunities to engage with the women who benefit from these programmes. The day after their arrival\, guests can join girls from the local community on a short 4km fun run\, followed by a career fair\, where they can share their own inspiring stories with hundreds of girls from neighbouring villages. \nDuring the five-night itinerary\, the participants will also visit the Grumeti Fund’s Environmental Education Center\, which hosts week-long courses for local students on conservation and minimising our impact on the Earth\, as well as an opportunity to meet the Fund’s anti-poaching team to find out how they preserve and protect the region’s critical ecosystem. \nThis year’s event will take place from October 25-30\, 2019. The experience costs US$8\,500 per person (single) or US$6\,000 per person (sharing) for the all-inclusive 5-night package\, including Grumeti Air return flights to Kilimanjaro; an additional tax-deductible donation to the Grumeti Fund of US$16\,500 per person (single) or US$9\,000 per person (sharing)\, used to fund empowerment programmes in the Serengeti. \nTo book your place\, email Katherine Cunliffe\, info@grumetifund.org or visit www.singita.com \n  \n\nPhotos: Singita
