Made over 21 days from 2\,875 pairs of worn-out and discarded flip-flops\, the impressive sculpture depicts the rabbit’s abundance and longevity\, while raising awareness of the tangible impact that our lifestyles can have on the environment. This year\, the Indian Heritage Centre’s (IHC) Deepavali Open House welcomes everyone to celebrate the joyous occasion with an exciting array of programmes from 1 to 23 October 2022. \n \nIn a first for IHC\, visitors will be able to enjoy the annual Little India Deepavali street light-up and decorations on the Deepavali Big Bus Tour\, that will run over the Open House weekends. The customised open-top sightseeing bus tour provides the perfect introduction to the Little India precinct during the festive season and excellent photo opportunities from the top deck! \n \nAdding more colour to the precinct\, visitors will be able to contribute to a LEGO mural inspired by rangoli designs. The mural is designed in collaboration with LEGO artist Jeffrey Kong. Visitors will help to complete the mural by filling in its white outline with coloured LEGO bricks. \n \nBringing back a crowd-favourite\, a miniature replica of the Little India Deepavali street light-up arch along Campbell Lane beckons the public to join in the festivities at IHC. The decorated arch extends from the institution’s entrance to its stairwell\, serving as the perfect backdrop to take a Deepavali #OOTD!
