Made over 21 days from 2\,875 pairs of worn-out and discarded flip-flops\, the impressive sculpture depicts the rabbit’s abundance and longevity\, while raising awareness of the tangible impact that our lifestyles can have on the environment. The vibrant colours further add to the art’s overall cheerfulness and complement the festive celebrations of Chinese New Year. \n  \n \nFrom left to right: Handcrafted dragon\, horse\, tiger and snake sculptures made from used flip-flops \nThe zodiac sculptures are a part of i12 Katong’s drive to spotlight novel art collaborations driven by sustainable practices\, in line with Keppel Land’s commitment to sustainability. To raise awareness of the importance of sustainable living\, the artists behind these exhibits aim to not only create beautiful works of art\, but to also promote conversations about environmental issues. \ni12 Katong invites shoppers to embark on a hunt to find the 12 Chinese zodiac animal sculptures around the mall. DESCRIPTION:The 2022 edition sees the festival rebranded as Canberra Art Biennial and sees expansion to the National Arboretum (contour 656)\, the University of Canberra (contour 606) as well as maintaining and building further on our presence in North and South Canberra\, centred on contour 556\, the height above sea level of Lake Burley Griffin. \n \nContour 556 is the water level of Lake Burley Griffin\, which links the event in name as well as in purpose to the history of the central Canberra landscape.
